Enjoy the West Coast with SCSSC

The SCSSC was set up in 1992 to provide sailing amongst CSSC members in Scotland. This came about for two main reasons at the time - the fact that all CSSA sailing activity was based on the Solent or East Anglia, and the facilities kindly offered by NEL SC. Membership is open to all CSSC members, with family & associate membership. In 1995 contact was established with Neptune SC. Since then there has been a programme each year during the season of weekend & week sails. We have access to a Westerly Tiger ’25 from NEL SC and a Bavaria 36’ from Neptune SC. Cruises, especially based on the West Coast, have stimulated interest from CSSA members down south who are very keen to sail in Scottish waters. Consequently we now have established good links with the CSSA and its divisions together with other CSSC colleagues to our mutual benefit. Through our contacts members also have access to a number of other sailing opportunities & training. In 2002 5KSC took delivery of a Westerley Storm ’33 which is based in Liverpool and cruises in Scottish waters and the Irish Sea. Other yachts, either owned or skippered by members allow our members the opportunity to sail out of different marinas on the Clyde or the West Coast.
